Corporate Responsibility

At Hydrocarb Energy Corporation we are committed to responsible social and environmental practices. This includes best practices for safeguarding the environment and minimizing our impact upon it. Our standards meet or exceed host country regulations.

We believe in strong leadership and accountability, ethical business practices, and enforcing the highest standards to contain health and safety risks for all our stakeholders: employees, contractors, and the citizens of the countries in which we operate. While helping develop energy capacity within our host countries, Hydrocarb also supports education and poverty alleviation, with a special focus on improved access to health care.

Namibia is the first country in the world to incorporate the protection of the environment into its constitution; some 14% of the land is protected. Per Article 95, “The State shall actively promote and maintain the welfare of the people by adopting international policies aimed at the following: maintenance of ecosystems, essential ecological processes, and biological diversity of Namibia, and utilization of living natural resources on a sustainable basis for the benefit of all Namibians, both present and future.”
